From her childhood in Cannes, Monick Lanza has kept the memory of the mediterranean salt spray, the colours and the lights of the South.
Established in Canada since 1965, her work has been displayed on both sides of the Atlantic.
« I define myself first as an artist, then as photographer. This allows me to write about things, to tell stories through images ».
For me, photography is a language that is part of pictorial writing.
Images can make up a landscape that evolves in space and time.
It is a way of being.
The images that I create by mixing old photos and more recent ones are a testimony and gradually become entities in their own right ».
